We’ve always said in North Carolina that if you don’t like the weather, give it a week. We have had temperatures in the teens this week. Next week it is going to be in the 50’s. Because of this, layering is key and boots can be worn almost all year.
YAAYY! I LOVE, LoVe, love boots. I am the Imelda Marcos of boots (if you don’t know who that is, Google it). Cowboy, riding, rain, over the knee, stiletto, square heeled, booties, leather and suede. They are all wonderful and oh so versatile. I often build an entire outfit around the pair I feel like wearing that day. I picked up this pair of brown Frye Cowboy Boots on a site called Guilt. I have several apps that have clothing, shoes and accessories at significant markdowns. Notdstrom Rack, Rue La La, Zulily, and Real Real are just a few that I use regularly. Before spending your hard earned money on a crappy pair of polyurethane boots, check these apps and score a genuine leather pair for almost the same price. Believe me, you will certainly be able to tell the difference.
This fair isle poncho by Sleeping on Snow ( Similar Found Here) is one of my favorite sweaters. It was a little more than I would normally spend, but it is so unique and pretty, I had to have it. You can see why, right? I threw a denim button down under it and topped it off with this beautiful hat. I have a huge noggin. It has to be to house this brain of mine. If the ladies’ hats are too small for you, then just head on over to the mens’ department. No one will ever know but you. And, so what if they do!
This sweater from H&M caught my eye for its lovely sea-foam color. Then I noticed the dragonfly and buggies bejeweled on each sleeve. So sweet! Unfortunately this sweater is no longer available online. Sometimes things are just too good to last. Here’s another beautiful option in the same color. I love white in the winter. I know, having been raised as a “proper” Southern Girl, white was to only be worn between Easter and Labor Day. Well that is one rule that is meant to be broken. These white jeans from Loft can literally be worn all year long now. I added a crisp white collared blouse from a shop in Charlotte called Versona.
These super cool boots I picked up 7 or 8 years ago at Nordstrom (Since these are so old, here’s a similar option). I was walking through the shoe department and they stopped me in my tracks. They were marked down to half-price and only had 1 pair left. IN A SIZE 6!!! That is what I call a gift from God!!! It would have been a straight up sin not to buy them.
I would like to thank my sweet friends Melody and Matthew Fuhr for the use of their lovely home and barn for my pictures. Credit also goes to their daughters Augusta, for being my photographer and Sloane, for helping give me a legit cat eye.
Come back and show Raenette some love on Friday!!! So glad you dropped by!
