Pretty Pastels Part 3

Happy Good Friday everybody! Spring has finally sprung here in NC! Well, at least for 2 days. Lol!

Now the closer we get to Easter the more I think about pastels. I must admit I was turned off by pastels for many a year because I had “Myrtle pastel overload”. Myrtle, as in my mama, God rest her soul, sure did love some pastels, and she especially loved them on her daughters. So, every Easter we would have a new pastel dress and, way back in the day, it might have included a hat as well. So, when I gained my independence I swore off pastels, but in the end you know what they say, “Mama is ALWAYS right!” It took me a long time to figure that out, but once I did it sure made things a lot easier. Lol! So, back to pastels it is! But everything in moderation.

Top// Pants// Shoes//

I bought this cute floral shirred silky top from Kohl’s. It is part of the Lauren Conrad (remember her?) collection. I love the square neckline, puffy sleeves and the cute pleated detail on the sleeves. They also have it in a ton of other color combinations. Not only it is cute, but it is so comfortable and forgiving. Plus, the shirring makes us small busted gals look like we have a little sometin’sometin’.

These cute pink straight legged jeans are also from Kohl’s. They are from the Jennifer Lopez collection and I love the gold zipper detailing because it gives them a little edge. And the length is perfect. For the first time, I didn’t have to roll them up or have them hemmed. I know you short girls can relate. Most of the time, you have to buy petite for the length but then they are too short in the straddle & the crotch cuts you in half. So, finding a pair in a regular size where the length is just right is nothing short of miraculous! Score one for us vertically challenged gals!

I topped off the look with some tan suede open toed booties from Lucky. They are just as comfortable as they are cute! The heel is just the right height to give you a little lift but not too high where you have to stumble around like a baby giraffe.

So, hop on down to Kohl’s this Easter weekend, and grab you some of these beauties! Plus, I believe they are having a sale with an extra 20% off of some items. You can’t beat that!

These and my sister’s pics were taken on the beautiful Dorothea Dix campus. It is truly a Raleigh gem. If you’ve never been, hop in your car sometime & drive on over. The campus is huge so there’s a lot to explore. There’s open areas where folks can let their dogs run crazy, throw a frisbee or take a walk. You can bring a blanket or chair and just kick back and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature. The majestic oak trees are worth a visit alone!

Happy Easter Everyone! I hope the bunny is good to you!
