More Fun 4th Fashion

Wooo!!! It’s almost the 4th of July.  Now, down here in SC they get serious about celebrating.  This is one of those states where you can purchase the legit fireworks. You know, the BIG BOOM ones.  A sparkler and smoke bomb ain’t gonna cut it down here my friends.  We need ones that can blow your phalanges hither and yon.  You can walk in the local Walmart and load up on firecrackers, Roman candles, missiles, rockets, burgers and beer. Now, by God, we are ready to wish America a Happy Birthday!!! Woooo!!!

Gingham Shirt//Denim Skirt// Wedges

Of course, for any and all 4th of July Celebrations, red, white, and blue are the colors of choice.  I love my red and white gingham button down.  Yes, I know it is long-sleeves. And yes, I know it has been 150 degrees outside.  But, the gauzy material of this shirt is so very light and airy, that it’s the same as wearing a sleeveless top.  Bonus, it covers the parts of my arms that I’m not so crazy about.  Unfortunately, I bought it a couple of seasons ago, but the one here is just as cute.

White denim is a staple in my wardrobe all year long.  I love everything about this skirt.  It has just enough stretch to feel comfortable, but it still holds its shape.  The released hem (also known as a frayed edge) adds to its fun and sexy vibe.

Well, we have red and white so now we need blue.  My wedge espadrille sandals complete the equation.  I, however, would NOT recommend this height of a shoe on rocky terrain.  I just about broke my neck trying to get these pics.  As soon as I got a couple of good ones, I kicked them off and slipped into my white Rainbow Flip-Flops.  The wedges are comfy on regular flooring though.  I’m just not always the most graceful.

No 4th of July is complete without some home made ice cream.  My guy Lindsay and I found this cute little Mom and Pop Ice Cream Parlor in Denver, NC.  The soft-serve vanilla ice cream inside a birthday cake flavored waffle cone was delicious.  When we stepped outside to devour our treats, we noticed these cute little hand-painted boards where you could put your face in the hole and become the character.  The troll one totally cracked us up.  Sometimes it’s the smallest things you remember the most.  If you ever get a chance to checkout Lighthouse Station Ice Cream, I highly recommend it.  They also have many hand-dipped flavors if soft-serve isn’t what you’re in the mood for.
