So, it’s Fit Friday again, and I am no more fit than I was last Friday. Ha!!! I have, however, done some research on different diet/eating plans and made a decision on which one I will use.
I kept seeing advertisements for Noom on Facebook. Being as I was in need of a lifestyle change, I clicked on over to their site. Once there I answered a few basic questions like age, height, current weight and goal weight. They did a few calculations and informed me that with their $25/month help, I could reach my desired weight by July! You heard me! July! Well hell, that sounded good to me. Of course, I am not so naive as to think that there won’t be bumps in the road and setbacks. I mean, I do know myself after all. But, even if it takes until August or September, I’m fine with that. As long as I am losing as opposed to gaining I will be moving in the right direction.
Noom is an App for your smartphone that uses cutting-edge technology to accurately monitor your progress and provide expert advice and analysis to keep you on track. That’s what their website says anyway. The one thing that stuck out most to me was that Noom helps you identify the psychological triggers that cause you to say eat half a chocolate cake right before bed. Negative thinking, stress eating, boredom eating, social pressure, etc. are all covered here. Now THAT is a different approach than any other plan I have ever followed. Getting to the root of why I overeat will hopefully help me lose the weight and keep it off this time.
So, you may be asking yourself why I haven’t started yet. Just give me a damn minute, Janice! I am gonna treat myself to one last weekend of indulgence. I have to finish up my pinot grigio and use the ingredients that I’d already bought to make my baked spaghetti. I can’t just throw the stuff away. That would be sinful😁
Monday, January 28th will be my start date. I’m still trying to decide between either the 4 or 6 month plan. I guess with the money I won’t be spending on food, I’ll be able to afford 6 months. Maybe I’ll buckle down and lose all the weight in 3 months. You never know. Wish me luck!
