Well our Summer is officially over. 😔 My youngest guy started 8th grade today. I was so NOT ready for Summer to end. I’m one of those weird Moms that actually enjoys having my kids home. I also enjoyed not having to beg him to get up at 6:00 am. Not having to tell him to hurry 100 times so he didn’t miss the bus. Not having to fight with him to get his homework done. We have had such a good Summer, but I guess it’s time to get our school on.
With the start of school comes the promise of Fall! That means time to start transitioning our Summer wardrobe to Fall. Now that doesn’t mean you have to run out and buy all new stuff (wouldn’t that be fun though!!). Today I’m gonna show you a couple of examples of how to turn a Summer piece into a Fall piece. It’s like dang magic I tell ya!!
First up is this awesome ruched Dress by Leith. This dress is incredibly comfortable and equally as flattering (And it makes my ass go POW). It also comes in a million different colors (well actually 12). The side ruching definitely helps to camouflage my pooch. Now for Summer I kept this look mighty simple by pairing it with a black link necklace and my favorite wedges. While this is an awesome little Summer Dress, with just a few changes, it can easily become a Fall favorite. Watch this y’all!!
Presto change-oh!!! Totally different outfit with the addition of a super lightweight duster Cardigan, a heavier necklace and some cool leopard print booties. I have to admit, I’m still getting used to the look of booties with a dress, but I think I dig it! Now my little Summer Dress can be worn well into the Fall. BAM! Winning at life over here! Lol!
Yes those are my dang cut-off Jean shorts again. I PROMISE this will be the last time you see these for a while. They are just the best. Anywho, I adore my new peplum top from JCrew. While the weather’s hot, I can throw this on with just about any pair of little shorts, some cute wedges, and I’m out the door. I tend to keep my jewelry very simple and more lightweight in the Summer. My Kendra Scott necklace has been the perfect accent for most of my Summer outfits. Let’s go see how this top can transition into Fall with ease.
Lord I do love this outfit!!! I so dig the contrast of the feminine peplum top with the military style Camo pants! Then add a big ole set of pearls, and it’s beyond perfection!! For cooler temps, I trade out my open toe wedges for a cute pair of flats. For even chillier days, just throw on a little denim jacket or a cute cropped Cardigan. Both would be adorable with the peplum peeking out. This top is gonna take me well into the Fall. It’s versatility makes it well worth the price.
So ya see, it just takes a bit of creativity to turn our Favorite Summer pieces into our Favorite Fall pieces. Give it a try!
So now I’ve gotta go wait for my boy to get home from school. Here’s wishing them all the best year yet!!
