All Our Thanks

Here we are right back at Thanksgiving again. I swear I blinked and this year was gone. Can you believe we’ve been doing this blogging thing for almost a year? In some ways it feels like we just started and in some ways like we’ve been blogging forever.

Us Nettes will be taking the rest of this week off, but we had to stop by to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving. We are so very thankful for those of you that have followed us. For those of you that have taken the time to encourage us and support us, we say a big ole Thank You!! It’s funny, the folks you think will be super supportive aren’t always and the ones you least expect step up out of nowhere. Life is funny like that.

While I am not always a little ray of Sunshine ( I know SHOCKER), I do know how very very blessed I am. While people tick me off on the regular, I do know that true goodness still exists in this world. How do I know that?? I just look at my sweet boys. I have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and every day. Here are just a few of the things that make my life worthwhile:

My sweet parents. While they are no longer here with us on this Earth, their love lives on in us. They were truly the best.

My brothers and sisters. Yes we can drive each other completely NUTS, but we always have each other’s back.

My sweet husband Clif. Has our marriage been perfect?? Hell NO, but it’s been worth the trials and tribulations.

My sweet boys. These boys are my life, and I thank God every day for making me their Mom.

My BFF Lisa. We have seen each other through the sunshine and the shit. As you get older, you realize how rare true friends are. I am thankful for the few true friends I have.

My Kitty boy. This sweet boy came into my life when I really needed something to lift my spirits. Yes he has torn up my couch and my chair, but he makes me smile every day. Just look at that little fuzzy face.

This list could go on and on and on. I am thankful for my good health, for my home, for my friends and neighbors, for my baseball family, for my clogging class, for chocolate, for Diet Pepsi, for music to dance to, for beautiful boots, for jeans that make my booty pop, for fried chicken, for shopping malls, for an empty dishwasher and an empty sink, for good poops that make you feel 10 pounds lighter (y’all know what I’m talking about), for people that make me laugh, for Big Sales and Free delivery, for people that know how to give a good hug, for making it to the bathroom in time after eating cabbage for lunch, for good cuss words like f**k and shit, for pants that I can still button, for people that pretend not to notice when you accidentally fart out loud, for people that respect my opinion, for true words of encouragement when I need them the most. And last but not least, for YOU!!! There’s really so very much to be thankful for.

Now let’s hear from you!! What can you add to my list above?? What makes your heart overflow with gratitude?? Drop a comment below.

We love y’all and wish you all the best Thanksgiving ever!! See ya next week.

  1. I never took the time, until. Now, to figure out how to post a comment. Let’s see if this works. I love your blog, I look forward to it! You are all so fabulous !!!

  2. HaHa – you’ve pretty much touched on my thankful list – all but the fried chicken. Lol. I know I’m thankful for the rake that sits in my garage this year – don’t want any forest fires in my back yard! And, I’m thankful for my job that I sometimes complain about too much, using those cuss words we’re so thankful for! And, I’m thankful for you Nettes writing this blog. You put comedy in the mundane and I’ve enjoyed your online friendship- now if we could only party in person!
